Short and Sweet, Murasaki Baby Hits All The Right Notes Until It Ends - The Take Your Time Review

Quick Note: Murasaki Baby is a great puzzle game that uses everything but the Vita Buttons and Joysticks, and does it well. That said, it's really short and ends abruptly. If you enjoy shorter, abstract games or unique puzzle games, pick this one up. Otherwise, you're better off else where.

The PS Vita is such a unique blend of hardcore gaming and phone interfaces. Most gamers despise the touch screen, but that mostly comes from developers not utilizing it properly. Though not perfect, the simple touch control scheme of Murasaki Baby helps bring you closer to Baby without getting frustrated, and the game is all the better for it.

Is PlayStation Now the Future?

The future...?
The end of July marked the launch of Sony's new digital rental service into a public beta on PlayStation 4. Through PlayStation Now, gamers will be able to stream a library of PlayStation 3 games to play on their PS4, eliminating the need for backwards compatibility or keeping your PS3 hooked up. The streaming service is being created from Sony's acquisition of Gaikai two years ago, and though there are still many questions to be answered about how the service will work, the public beta gives us an idea of what to expect. After a week of gaming on PlayStation Now, I can report that the service has promise, but there are still kinks to be worked out.

Short and Sweet, The Last of Us: Left Behind is Exactly What It ShouldBe

The Last of Us is an incredible game. From the addictive game play that had me scouring every corner of the map to the emotional highs and lows of the story, this game has easily made it's way into my top 5 games of all time. I have such a personal bias to this game that I consciously chose not to write a review on it, as I couldn't be impartial. Now the DLC (Download Chapter, as Neil Druckmann prefers to say) is out, and I'm falling in love all over again. As this is not a true game and I am still incredibly biased towards this game, I will not write a proper review, but I will give you some of my impressions on the download chapter.

Friends to the End

Pokemon Meets Studio Ghibli, And It's Awesome.

Quick Note: Though not without it's faults, Ni No Kuni is one of the better JRPGs this console generation. With a unique story, gorgeous graphics and animated cutscenes, and hours of content, this game is what JRPG fans have been waiting for.

Gotta' Catch 'Em... Oh Wait.
Monster collection games have this way of sucking you in for the long haul. Between leveling up your favorites and seeing which creature comes around the next corner, it's hard to not love the formula. Between Persona 4: Golden and pretty much every Pokemon game, I have loved the time sink that these types of games are. Though not as refined as it could be, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch comes just shy of greatness as the monster collecting game I have always wanted.
