Shinra is Real, and Not What You Expect

First step, game streaming. Next step, world domination.
Square Enix has officially announced the creation of Shinra Technologies, a new cloud gaming company. Led by former Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada, the service looks to provide games that will be available to stream on an array of devices, similar to OnLive.

The service is working with multiple developers to bring original content to the platform. Ubisoft is already on board, with CEO Yves Guillemot discussing how important cloud gaming will be for the future of gaming and hopes that getting in at the start will help both Shinra and Ubisoft.

The service will enter open beta in Japan and the US starting in early 2015. Shinra is also looking to increase the amount of developers in the same time frame. For more news on Shinra Technologies, Square Enix and gaming keep it locked to The Jester's Court.
