Sony No Longer Sponsoring FIFA

Will the loss of two more major sponsors affect FIFA negatively?
Sony will not renew its sponsorship with FIFA, attributing the move to rising costs, though it is one of many companies which have been worried about the negative publicity surrounding the sports organization.

According to Nikkei, the current deal is expiring in December and will be the end of Sony's sponsorship with the Football organization due to the company "preferring to spend its money on completing structural reforms this fiscal year."

However, Sony is being reported to be unhappy with accusations of corruption surrounding World Cup voting and internal elections for FIFA, according to the Daily Mail. With Sony no longer sponsoring, FIFA now has six major sponsors, though the airline Emirates is also withdrawing its sponsorship.
