EA Access Accessible without Xbox Live - Gamer's Source

Hello and welcome to the Gamer's Source, your destination for gaming information. Xbox Live Gold will not be necessary for EA Access and video games may just be the new 'apple a day'. So, without further ado, the news:

  • EA Access Accessible for All Xbox Owners - Xbox Live Gold will not be required to play games on EA's newest streaming service on Xbox One. A statement to IGN clarifies that all Xbox One owners will have the ability to stream games through EA Access. However, to play any of the online multiplayer modes, Xbox Live Gold is required.

This is a smart move on EA's part. This ensures that no Xbox One owner will not be able to play with Access. This also ensures that gamer's aren't forced to pay $90 a year ($30 for Access and $60 for Gold) just to play Access.
  • More Proof That Video Games Are Good For You - An hour a day of video games may be good for child development. According to a study at Oxford University (published by the Telegraph), children between the ages of 10 and 15 who play roughly an hour of games a day show more signs of social abilities, less hyperactivity and more likely to say they were satisfied with their lives. The study of 5000 children tested groups of children who play up an hour, between one and three hours, and over three hours of games a day. “Games provide a wide range of novel cognitive challenges, opportunities for exploration, relaxation and socialisation with peers. Like non-digitally mediated forms of child play, games may encourage child well-being and healthy social adjustment,”read the article.

It seems like as the days go on there is more evidence for video games not being this horrible entity that is destroying the minds of our children.
Hopefully with more and more evidence we can see less vitriol towards this wonderful medium as people become more educated. When you get time, you should really dive into the actual article. It's very interesting to see the data break down.
Here's a small list of interesting, self explanatory stories from the day:
  • Take a trip back to Rapture - Bioshock is making it's way to iOS systems
  • White Xbox One with Sunset Overdrive bundle leaked online.
  • Special 'Gaystation' PS4 auctioned off for charity for over $4000.
  • Hyrule Warriors will have local co-op, but no online play.
  • Special Legend of Zelda edition of Monopoly is now available for pre-order; Will release next month.
  • Mutant Mudd creator to release Metroidvania game Xeodrifter on 3DS.
  • Kano has been leaked for Mortal Kombat X.
