Super Smash Bros. A Big Success on 3DS

Apparently beating the hell out of Nintendo characters is popular. Who knew?

The sales numbers for the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. are in, and if they are any indicator of what the Wii U version of the game will do, Nintendo's in for a great holiday season.

Nintendo announced the sales numbers for the handheld version of the game, reporting over 2.8 million units have been sold worldwide. With such a huge success, the company has also announced the release date for the Wii U version of the game, which will be out in the US on November 21st with Europe trailing behind and releasing on December 5th.
