Capcom Announces Next Dragon's Dogma Game

Capcom's fantasy franchise Dragon's Dogma is getting a new iteration. Releasing on PS4, PS3 and PC, Dragon's Dogma Online will be a free-to-play title.

Originally picked up by Siliconera, details reveal that players will be able to take on an open world with up to three other friends (or three AI characters, known as pawns). Lobbies will include over 100 different players whom will all pick a class, such as Hunter, Priest and Shield Sage to take on various quests. Though the title will be free-to-play, the world will be continuously expanded with new updates. No Western release is planned at this time.

It's interesting to watch Capcom adapt to the ever changing console spectrum. Dragon's Dogma Online is the second large, free-to-play title the company is developing for consoles (the other being the PS4 exclusive Deep Down). It will be interesting to see if these new games will help turn the company's financial state around, as Capcom has been struggling in recent years with a lack of very large releases to bring in cash.
