Seattle is Still a Great Destination for This Super Powered Franchise - The inFamous: First Light Take Your Time Review

Quick Note: Short, but straight to the point, First Light is the standard all downloadable story content should be held to. With a few hours of story and tons of challenges and arenas to take on, the package is well worth the $15 to dive back into inFamous and the neon powers that come with it.

inFamous: Second Son made a lot of promises for PS4 owners and early adopters. The multitude of powers and a real world location brought along some great change and, despite a few stumbling points with pacing and storytelling, introduced us to Fetch, a charismatic and emotional neon powerhouse that Delsin helps, in one way or another. Where as our time with Fetch was fleeting in Second Son, the woman's story and powers are front and center in First Light, and what a package they make.

Enjoy Your Power with inFamous Second Son

Quick Note: Second Son is SO good. For any one who enjoys exploring open worlds with lots of stuff to do and play around with all sorts of abilities given to you, this is the game for you. Though the story falls off towards the end of the game, it still hits home pretty well and playing with all the powers is so much fun. If you own a PS4 you need to buy this game.

inFamous has always been a big franchise for me. The idea of an every man gaining crazy super powers and tearing around giant cities appeals to the little boy in me, but the choices of being good or bad brings out the hero (or villain) in me. So when Second Son was announced for PS4, I was ecstatic. Sucker Punch should be proud of this game because it is a fine accomplishment and a perfect representation of what inFamous and inFamous 2 have been building up to.

Virtual Worlds: Video Game Locations I Want to Visit

Videogames have always been this interactive form of escapism. For years I would play my Game Boy Color with Pokemon Yellow while riding in the car between Ohio and North Carolina to dive into the world of Kanto and avoid the boring real world drive. Over the years, as my game tastes have expanded, I've come to find so many different worlds that I would love to go and visit. Here are a few:

Gaming Memories of This Generation

Gaming can offer so many experiences. The joy of reaching a high score on the leader board. The anger of getting shot in the back. The competition between you and your best friend as you race around the track. It’s amazing just how many different emotions and feelings you get from one game and how different those emotions are from others who play that same game. This is why games are art: they connect us, on an emotional level that is hard to tap into on any other medium. With the ending of the current generation in sight (though not quite here yet) there’s been a lot of reflection on the best moments of this past 8 years in gaming. Here are a few of mine. Spoiler Alert for those who have yet to play Journey, The Last of Us and infamous 2.

inFamous 2 Blows Away the First in Every Way

Quick Note: inFamous 2 does everything bigger and better than the first. Abilities grow and are customizable, the story is far more engrossing and the combat is even more satisfying. Little fixes go a long way in this sequel, which is a must by for any die hard Sony Fan boy or third person action gamer.
Good or Bad: You Decide
With the first inFamous, I had a lot of hesitation. After getting it for free from Sony for the Great Playstation Outage, I sat on it for months. That was not the case with the sequel. After watching my room mate John play a bit and finished with inFamous: Festival of Blood, I was ready for inFamous 2. Almost too ready. I felt like I might have inflated my expectations for the game. How wrong I was. The game is amazing. Hands down, Sucker Punch has done an amazing job with the newest iteration of the series.

inFamous Dresses Up for Halloween and Wins the Costume Contest

Quick Note: This is inFamous lite. It's a quick romp through the world of inFamous 2, showing off Cole and his abilities while making a quick story. Every aspect that makes inFamous great is available, and with trophy hunting the game will take between 2 and 6 hours to play and is only $10.

As technology gets cheaper, it becomes increasingly easier to utilize it to reach a larger audience. This is why cell phones are becoming the most popular medium for game designers, even slowly pulling in large studios like Epic. The three major console companies are starting to get wise to the act and are starting to introduce their own brand of quick to play, short to last and enjoyable download games. With this movement, Sucker Punch has decided to throw it's fighter into the ring and introduces inFamous: Festival of Blood, a quick stand alone game based in the inFamous universe.

Comic Book Hero Made For Games: inFamous Rocks!

Open world, sand box style games have never been much fun to me. I've played them all in bits and pieces, from Grand Theft Auto to Assassin's Creed, and though I enjoy them for their quality of freedom, I just never get into them. I recently acquired inFamous through the PlayStation Network Welcome Back program, and ever since acquiring it I delayed even touching it. I would turn on my system, and every time I stared at the game name and moved onto something else. This trend continued until my friend and fellow intern Kreston started raving about the game. So when he came over, I was forced into a corner and booted up the game. From start to finish, I could not put it down. inFamous is your typical sand box game on crack, a modern day Assassin's Creed with it's own slick style and power to make you the player feel like a total bad-ass, most of the time.
