Number ONE!
It has been officially confirmed that Elder scrolls online you won't require PlayStation Plus. Talking through the European PlayStation Blog, Matt Firor, game director of the MMO, confirmed that the only subscription fee players would have to pay would be the one for the game itself. He also released some more information concerning how the servers would be handled, stating PS4 gamers would be between American and European servers that would be separate from PC gamers. Though that seems like a small step backwards, at least he did confirm the consoles would also be part of the beta.
Number TWO!!
According to report Amazon will release the $300 gaming console. Coming from VG24/7, the report details a console similar in size and shape to the re-release PSOne, with a smoother look. This is more than likely a console created to run Android games, so the price point to me is quite baffling. I'm sure more news will seep out over the coming months.
NUMBER Three!!!
Nintendo has confirmed today that they will not be releasing games on mobile. A statement released through Engadget from the company states that the previous article in the Japanese publication Nikkei was quoting Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata from previous cases in which he stated the game developer/publisher would have no qualms using these smart phones to promote Nintendo games, but not as a confirmation that it would create mobile experiences. This is not surprising what so ever and is probably a smart move for the company, as Nintendo needs those franchises on its devices to give consumers a reason to come to them. If they released games on Mobile devices, it would take away from the mind-share of it's own devices.
NUMBER Four!!!!
An online battle in the MMO EVE Online is costing close to 300,000 real-world dollars, according to PCGamer. The battle started when one Corporation within the game forgot a rental payment. This is amazing.
NUMBER FIVE!!!!!
Final Fantasy 14 awarded Most Accessible Mainstream Game of the Year honors by the AbleGamers foundation. It's great to see games take steps to make the games accessible to as many people as possible.
And that's all for this morning! Try to stay warm out there if you're in any polar-vortex zones (like myself) and come back for more news stories. And as always, keep the conversation going.
